I just don’t know… This time of year guarentees a chance to fill the anual nativity scene-banning quota. ‘Nativity’ booted from Ill. holiday fair Chicago has it right, displaying symbols of various religions during what I’ll call “The [December] Holiday Season”.
What purplexes me is how movie studios and their cameras seem to be able to locate only the “Nativity” when we live in a religiously diverse world. It’s 2006, in the United States for crying out loud! Chicago shouldn’t have had to suggest broadening the limited/narrow holiday media. It’s crazy!
Then over in Colorado, someone mistook a wreath in the form of a peace sign, or a peace sign in the form of a holiday wreath (the debate will continue) as a sign of Satan. A sign of Satan??? Now, that wins a prize for high ignorance or deep confession. Which one remains to be seen. It seems the subdivision’s homeowners association has sense to save what’s left of its face Colo. subdivision OKs Christmas wreath. We need as much Peace on Earth as we can get, and by that I mean “justice” too. Yes, peace and justice, in a world where men can fire 50 shots at other unarmed men without widespread and decisive outrage, and where masses can feel comfortable with the misery and death of too many.
