Decoding the Words
Hmmm, I have to draw attention to it after seeing it for the second time in news print.
In describing the top two Democratic presidential candidates, the news media has written someting like this: “Clinton, seeking to become the first female president, or Obama, the strongest black candidate in history.”
This is interesting. Analyzing this, is the MSM saying:
1 - America has already had a black president? Read: The article says that Obama is a “strongest black candidate” instead of saying “seeking to become the first black president”.
2 - Somehow, some way Obama will not be allowed to be president? Read: Votes for Obama will not be allowed to equal becoming president?
3 - Clinton will not be subject to the psychological and electoral limitation of being only a “strong candidate”? Read: Clinton is being given the expectation of becoming president?
There is power and under-tow power in language and words. It’s quite interesting I think.
