Stop! Look! Listen!
UNC slaying suspect charged in Duke killing
I’ll offer no excuses. There are none. I’ll offer no sympathy to the suspected murderers. What I do offer is mourning for all of us, the white, the Indian, the black, the Latin, the Asian, the Middle-Eastern. But in this case I mostly mourn the white, the Indian and the black.
I mourn the lost lives, all four of them and more of them.
I mourn the lost opportunities and potentials for good.
I mourn the potentials for good that could have come without these tragedies.
I mourn that two black boys’ hearts and minds didn’t get saved… not the “emotional religious saved”, I’m talking true “still quiet voice” saved.
I mourn that they slipped through the cracks or ran into and hid in the cracks.
I mourn the young graduate student shot dead in his home.
I mourn the young student body president shot dead and left on the blasted street!
I mourn their inhumane end.
I mourn that I must demand justice for their inhumane end.
I mourn that more lives are running into and hiding in the cracks.
I mourn the lost lives to come
I mourn that We have not learned
I mourn that We will to not learn
Lost lives and more lost lives.
Lost lives and more lost lives
It’s gotta end
It’s gonna end
It’s gonna end, how?
Lost lives and more lost lives.
