Some media are on a bandwagon about the MLK Civil Rights Dream = Obama Democratic Nominee. Some, like cartoonist David Horsey, have (with good intentions, but perhaps misguided) drawn images equating as much that The Dream has been “fulfilled”. Nothing is further from the truth. Barack Obama knows this. Hillary Clinton knows this. Joe Biden knows this. John Edwards knows this.

The point of this long exercise isn’t simply or cynically to put a black man into the white house to fulfill a racial jobs dream, or a woman into the VP office to fulfill a gender glass ceiling dream. YOU are going to have to know this in order to make the correct choices right now through and beyond November.

Questions:
Shall John McCain be rewarded for his many years of voting against relief for middle-class and poor people?
Shall John McCain be rewarded for voting 90% of the time with George W. Bush?
Shall John McCain be rewarded for throwing fellow Americans into the unnecessary fires of Iraq?
Shall John McCain be rewarded with a chance to take away a woman’s right to choose to have a child?
Shall John McCain be rewarded with a chance to appoint Supreme Court justices for life?
Shall John McCain be rewarded with a chance to give tax breaks to wealthy corporations and to those who’ve already shown that they will horde the nation’s wealth in off-shore holdings rather than invest in the American people?
Shall YOU gamble on that 10% chance of the change you want?

Questions:
Shall Barack Obama be punished for speaking and working against the immoral and illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq?
Shall Barack Obama be punished for wanting to support the right kind of troop deployment at the right time?
Shall Barack Obama be punished for aggressively re-investing from war and oil and into peace and green energy?
Shall Barack Obama be punished for trying to lower unwanted pregnancies while supporting a woman’s right to choose to have a child?
Shall Barack Obama be punished for considering the poor all of his pre- and post college life?
Shall YOU make good on that 90% chance of the change you want?
