Blessed Are The Peacemakers
I got to lie down. How shall I rise?
This world doesn’t make any sense some times. At times I catch myself participating in the choir of the cynics; singing the bitter, jaded tunes of a bitter, jaded soul. And sometimes I feel that the jaws of the beast (the forces of inequality, poverty, pain, greed, violence, broken lives, and broken communities) are so big and strong, so pervasive, so all-consuming that I just want to go to sleep and sleep-walk through life. I retreat in silence. But something beyond me often turns my retreat into a temporary retreat, respite, re-creation of soul in the moment and in the twinkling of an eye that I acknowledge the ever-flowing spirit of love.
Today, this new day to be thankful, I say thanks for raising me up out of sleep once again, and ask for the protection and safe release of peacemakers around the world.
