Happy Kwanzaa #1 - I am We/I am because We are

Day one of Kwanzaa was “Unity”
This is my first year really paying any attention to Kwanzaa - for “me”. I don’t want to rack up a few years of ritual and group-think before knowing what Kwanzaa means for me, myself and I, and how that meaning connects to the meanings that others have identified with and invested in.
So I was just surfing through the Internet in my sponge-mode and found the following phrase regarding Kwanzaa’s first word-day observance of “Unity”.
“I am We” … “I am because We are”
I think this phrase is rich. It requires broadmindedness and grace to make real beyond the superficial trappings we’ve already “been there and done that” on.
